Southern Cooking, Global Flavors by Chef Kenny Gilbert with Nan Kavanaugh, published by Rizzoli, has been featured on the Los Angeles Times Bestseller List.

Kristen Penoyer, a Florida-based food photographer, worked closely with the publisher, chef and writers to to connect imagery with narrative. Penoyer’s photography has been featured on Food Network and published in Food & Wine, Washington Post, LA Times, USA Today, Architectural Digest, People.com, Salon.com, Flamingo Magazine, First Coast Magazine, and more.

Kristen has worked with Chef Kenny Gilbert for more than a decade and holds a deep professional respect for his work and approach to food. Collaborating on Southern Cooking, Global Flavors was one of the most rewarding projects of her career, built on a long-standing creative partnership.

Southern Cooking, Global Flavors presents Southern cuisine through global influences, blending traditional Southern foundations with international techniques. The photography was developed to remain consistent, focused, and centered on the food.
