Photographing the Next Chapter of Chef Scott Crawford’s Restaurant Concepts

I recently worked with Grove Bay Hospitality Group on a photography project in Raleigh, North Carolina, capturing imagery for Chef Scott Crawford’s new casual dining concepts, Crawford & Son and Crawford’s Genuine. The shoot took place at Brodeto, his gorgeous Raleigh restaurant and the focus was entirely on creating versatile, brand-forward imagery to support these newer concepts — highlighting food, atmosphere, and moments that feel approachable, polished, and rooted in everyday hospitality.

Chef Scott Crawford is one of the most respected culinary leaders in the Southeast, with multiple James Beard Foundation semifinalist nominations for Best Chef: Southeast and recognition as a James Beard semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur. His work has had a lasting influence on Raleigh’s dining scene, known for balancing thoughtful technique with warmth, accessibility, and a strong sense of place — values that carry through all of his restaurant concepts.

This shoot was about building a visual library that feels natural and flexible, suited for casual dining brands that prioritize quality without pretense. Using Brodeto as a backdrop allowed us to work with beautiful light, texture, and movement while keeping the imagery focused on the food and the experience rather than a specific location or individual. It was a pleasure collaborating with the Grove Bay team, and I’m excited to share imagery that supports the ongoing growth of these concepts.
