I recently had the honor of working with the Forking Amazing Restaurant group to produce images of their brand new desserts. When Chef Michael Bump came on board as the head pastry chef, he immediately set to work revamping the dessert menus for local favorites Il Desco, Ovinté, and Bistro AIX. And, in true Chef Bump style, the desserts do not disappoint. As beautiful as they are delicious, they're a food photographers dream.
My approach to this shoot was simple: since I love the decor at Bistro AIX (where the shoot took place), I decided to incorporate it as much of the colors, patterns, and textures as I could into the photos. Not an easy feat when working with tiny plates which demand tight shots and lots of detail.
In the end I was extremely happy with the final photographs. How could I not be? Look how lovely my subjects were!
